Action for Children Scotland

Action for Children Scotland
Action for Children will deliver Positive Choices -  bespoke motivational and employability programmes designed to attract, enable, empower and inspire young people, and progress them into positive outcomes.

Appealing to the diverse needs, interests, preferences, aspirations and goals of young people via a blended programme with maximum choice of options, activities and support. This includes targeted progression pathways offering work preparation and skills training for young people to enter and sustain positive destinations in key growth sectors – youth work, sports coaching and social care; construction; oil and gas.
Positive Choices builds on best practice, performance, infrastructure and partnerships through Action for Children's existing youth employability delivery. For example, the YouthBuild programme supports over 120 young people annually and achieves 70% into employment, training and further education due to strong relationships with construction industry employers.

Positive Choices programme will engage and support an anticipated 180 + young people aged 16-24 years from the following target geographical areas – with a specific focus on localities and communities of need with high incidences of anti-social behaviour and crime.
